No accounts, no cookies
Dead Famous doesn't have accounts, sign-in or a server database. Your scores, streaks and settings live only in your browser's local storage, on your own device — they're never sent anywhere. Uninstalling the app or clearing site data deletes them for good; nobody else can do that for you, and nobody else can see them.
What the analytics collect
Dead Famous uses GoatCounter, a small EU-hosted analytics service built for exactly this: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no advertising network, and no personal identifiers of any kind. It doesn't set a unique ID for your device or try to recognise you between visits.
What it does record is anonymous counts of named events — things like "a game was started" or "a daily was finished" — so the counts can be tallied into a simple funnel (visits → games started → games finished). It never receives your guesses, the names of figures you've typed, or any answer content. A single word summarises the whole policy: counts, not people.
Analytics are currently on for this device.
It sets the same on-device flag as tapping the small version number in the app's home-screen footer five times quickly (that shortcut still works too). Nothing is ever sent anywhere either way — this only changes whether GoatCounter runs at all.
